Best Razer Keyboards

Razer mainly produces gaming keyboards, although now they have started making keyboards for the office as well.

They produce their own switches, so most of their mechanical keyboards are available with different types of switches, so before shopping around for a Razer keyboard, know your switch preference.

Razer offers a wide range of great gaming keyboards and they have some good options for office use too.

Their keyboards have excellent build quality and come in a wide range of switches, but they can be a bit pricey.

Depending on what you are looking for and how you use it, you are likely to find the right Razer keyboard.

1. Razer BlackWidow Elite – BEST RAZER KEYBOARD FOR GAMING

Razer BlackWidow Elite - BEST RAZER KEYBOARD FOR GAMING

The best Razer gaming keyboard we’ve tested so far is the Razer BlackWidow Elite.

Gamers will appreciate its customization options, be it controlling RGB lighting or recording macros.

It’s also available in three different switches: linear, click, and touch, so you can choose your preferred typing experience.

The model we tested included the Razer Orange switch, which is considered tactile. It has a very short pre-trip distance and low actuation force, perfect for when you need to enter your actions quickly.

It also has onboard memory for when you need to switch computers and two different incline settings. It comes with a comfortable artificial leather wrist rest, and its typing noise is quite low without switches.

Unfortunately, the wrist rest is a bit unstable. However, it is one of the brand’s high-end keyboards and with amazing gaming characteristics it is the best Razer keyboard for gaming.

However, if you want something smaller that leaves you a bit more room for your mouse, check out the TKL Razer Huntsman Tournament Edition with its linear optical switches.

2. Razer BlackWidow Lite – BEST RAZER KEYBOARD FOR OFFICE

Razer BlackWidow Lite - BEST RAZER KEYBOARD FOR OFFICE

The best Razer keyboard for office use is the Razer BlackWidow Tournament Edition Chroma V2.

This wired keyboard is designed with gaming in mind, but is still a great choice for office use.

Its TenKeyLess (80%) design means it won’t take up as much space on a desk, and there are also multimedia hotkeys to control music while you work.

Ergonomics are decent overall due to its unique tilt adjustment and detachable wrist rest, which should help reduce potential fatigue.

It comes in three different switch variants to suit your needs: Razer Yellow (silent and linear), Razer Orange (silent and tactile), and Razer Green (clicky and tactile).

Unfortunately, the accompanying software is not available on MacOS or Linux, and there is no internal memory, which means you won’t be able to customize your settings on those systems. Also, it lacks a numeric keypad, which can be irritating depending on your profession.

On the other hand, it has full RGB backlighting in case you work in the dark, which along with the programmable macros, are customizable from the Razer Synapse 3 companion software.

The slanted feet lock in place once they have been extended, making make the board feel much more secure than the generic BlackWidow. Overall, this is the best Razer keyboard for office use we’ve tested.

3. Razer Huntsman – Best Razer Keyboards

Razer Huntsman - Best Razer Keyboards

The best Razer keyboard available for under $ 100 that we’ve tested is the Razer Huntsman.

This is the entry-level full-size keyboard in their Huntsman line, and despite its low price, it has mechanical switches and most of the features that gamers look for.

It comes with proprietary Razer Optical Switches, which are unique switches that offer both click and tactile feedback.

They are light to press and very responsive, which is great for gaming, but they are too loud if you also want to use this keyboard in an open office environment.

All keys are macro-programmable, and it has full RGB backlighting.

Unfortunately, the keys wobble, and since they’re so easy to operate, it’s easier to make typos, so it’s not ideal for writers.

It also doesn’t come with a wrist rest, so it can be a bit tiring to wear for long periods of time.

If you’re not a fan of pure mechanical switches, the Razer Ornata V2 uses hybrid mechanical switches, and has a comfortable wrist rest, but is more expensive.

If you want an even cheaper keyboard, the Razer Ornata Chroma comes with a wrist rest, and it has mostly the same features as the Huntsman, but has rubber dome switches.

Overall, the Huntsman is the best Razer keyboard we’ve tested.
