Best Gaming Mouse

Gaming mice have evolved a lot in recent years, and we are at a point where wireless mice have the same or even lower latency than some wired gaming mice.

Some people may still prefer the reliability of a wired connection, but the difference will be negligible for most.

When looking for a mouse, you should look at its shape and how comfortable it is for you. Most gaming mice have a high polling rate so that the cursor moves smoothly on fast plays.

You must choose the best mouse for your needs, whether you want a simple FPS gaming design or if you want many side buttons to play MMOs.

1. Razer Viper Ultimate – Best Gaming Mouse

Razer Viper Ultimate - Best Gaming Mouse

The best wireless gaming mouse we’ve tested so far is the Razer Viper Ultimate. This mouse looks and feels great and well built, with a single RGB zone in its logo.

It is very comfortable to use and has a true ambidextrous design thanks to its two side buttons on each side of the mouse.

It can be used wirelessly or wired, and its cable is flexible and maintains far fewer folds than previous Razer mice.

The performance of this mouse is exceptional. It has an extremely wide adjustable CPI range and its click latency is very low whether you use it wired or with your wireless USB receiver.

All eight buttons are programmable, and you can even program the up and down scrolling of the mouse wheel, as well as a Hyper Shift button to add even more button options.

Unfortunately, although it can be used with any type of grip depending on the size of the hand, people with extra large hands will have a difficult time with anything other than a fingertip grip, and only small and medium hands can grip it with the palm of the hand.

For a more ergonomic palm-grip design at any size, check out the Razer Basilisk Ultimate, often referred to as the better-performing Logitech G502 Wireless.

2. Logitech G703 LIGHTSPEED – Best Gaming Mouse Splurge

Logitech G703 LIGHTSPEED - Best Gaming Mouse Splurge

A great cheaper alternative to the Razer Viper Ultimate is the Logitech G703 LIGHTSPEED Wireless Gaming Mouse with HERO Sensor.

Although it has fewer programmable buttons and is heavier, it is cheaper and fully compatible with macOS.

Its performance is almost identical to that of the Razer, with a wide CPI range and an even lower CPI error rate.

Although the maximum CPI is not that high, it is likely to be more than enough for most players.

It has excellent build quality, but is designed for right-handers due to the slight curve and left-handed buttons.

On the other hand, the Razer’s design is ambidextrous and has a set of buttons on each side.

If you can afford a more expensive mouse that has an ambidextrous design and has lots of programmable buttons, consider the Razer.

If you want a cheaper option that is fully compatible with Windows and MacOS, get the Logitech.

3. Razer Naga Trinity pro – Best Wireless Gaming Mouse

Razer Naga Trinity pro - Best Wireless Gaming Mouse

The best gaming mouse for versatility that we have tested so far is the Razer Naga Trinity. This mouse is a great option if you are a gamer who plays more than one type of game.

It comes with three different side magnetic panels that have different button designs.

There’s a 12-button one for MMO games, a seven-button circular one for MOBA games, and a simple two-button FPS layout.

The mouse has an excellent sensor and one of the lowest click latencies we have measured so far, ensuring a very responsive gaming experience.

It is compatible with the Razer Synapse for performance and lighting adjustments.

The Razer supports full RGB lighting on both the logo and the scroll wheel. It is also very well built and is very comfortable for people using a palm or claw grip.

Unfortunately, this mouse does not have the latest Razer cable, which means that it is quite stiff and creates some drag when moving the mouse.

Also, its broad body is too big for people with smaller hands. However, if you play a lot of different games and only want a single mouse, this is one of the best options.

4. Glorious Model O – Best Gaming Mouse for FPS

Glorious Model O - Best Gaming Mouse for FPS

The best gaming mouse with an ultralight design we’ve tested is the Glorious Model O.

This wired-only option is incredibly light due to the plastic material and the honeycomb holes in the body.

Despite this, it has a solid build quality and doesn’t feel flimsy.

Both left-handed and right-handed players can use it, and it’s great for a palm or claw grip.

It has built-in memory to save the settings of the Glorious Model O Software, which is only compatible with Windows.

It is an excellent choice for gamers as it has a very wide adjustable CPI range, and its click latency is excellent and sensitive enough for most gamers.

Also, the maximum polling rate is quite high, which results in very smooth cursor movement.

The cable in the model we tested was light and flexible, ideal for ultra-light games, but newer models have an updated version of the cable, which we hope will perform a little better.

Unfortunately, honeycomb patterns leave circuit boards exposed to dust, which can affect long-term durability.

There are only two side buttons, which is not enough for MMO players. Also, those with smaller hands will have a hard time using it regardless of the type of grip, but they can look into the Glorious Model O Minus.

Although we have not tested the Minus, we expect it to work similarly to the regular version. Overall, the Model O is an incredibly lightweight option and is among the best FPS gaming mice we’ve tested.

5. Corsair Scimitar Pro – Best MMO Gaming Mouse

Corsair Scimitar Pro RGB

The best gaming mouse for MMOs we’ve tested is the Corsair Scimitar Pro RGB.

What makes this mouse a great choice for MMOs is the 12-button side panel that can be moved slightly to your preferred position, helping with quick access to each button.

It also has excellent sensor performance and is easily programmable in iCUE software, which is fully compatible with MacOS and Windows.

It has different RGB lighting on the mouse wheel, on the side panel, on the brand name with the left mouse button, and on the logo under the palm of the hand.

The Corsair also feels responsive and has low click latency.

Unfortunately, its cable is not lightweight, which creates some drag when moving the mouse. It is very comfortable for the palm of the hand, but it is too short for people with large hands.

Overall, it is an exceptional mouse for playing MMO games and it is the best MMO mouse we have tested to date.

6. SteelSeries Rival 3 – Best Budget Gaming Mouse

SteelSeries Rival 3 - Best Budget Gaming Mouse

The best budget gaming mouse we’ve tested so far is the SteelSeries Rival 3.

Considering its budget price, the scroll wheel and side buttons have minimal noise, and it includes a solid plastic body with a pretty good feel.

It has a simple, ambidextrous design that is comfortable to use and fits well in all hand sizes with a claw grip.

The SteelSeries series includes an exceptional piece of software that is available on both Windows and MacOS.

You can customize every aspect of your mouse, and it has built-in memory so you can save your customization options and keep them when changing computers.

Although its maximum CPI is not as high as other options, it is likely high enough for most people, and its very low CPI error is one of the best we have measured.

Unfortunately, the mouse wheel has a very low profile, which may annoy some people, and the side buttons can be difficult to press as they are partially flush with the body of the mouse.

If you want something lighter and work a little better overall, take a look at the Razer Viper Mini, although it is a bit more expensive.

Main features :

  • Connectivity : Cable
  • Type : Standard

7. Logitech G305 – Best Gaming Mouse for Big Hands

Logitech G305 - Best Gaming Mouse for Big Hands

If you are looking for a great wireless gaming mouse, but want something cheaper, the Logitech G305 is a great option.

It may not be as light as the Razer Viper Ultimate and cannot be used corded as it requires batteries to run, but its overall performance is amazing, especially for the price.

It is a great mouse to use with a fingertip grip for quick movements thanks to its very low profile body.

It has two easily accessible side buttons, which should be fine for most people, but the Razer has two side buttons on either side of the mouse.

Although it is slightly heavier due to the use of physical AA batteries, the manufacturer estimates that the battery life is around 250 hours, which is remarkable and does not require you to always charge them.

If you want the best-performing gaming mouse we’ve reviewed so far, go for the Razer, but if you’re on a budget but would like a great wireless mouse, go for the Logitech.
