Best Budget Gaming Chairs

If you’ve ever watched an esports tournament or been to an internet cafe, you’ve probably seen these cool, stylish, runner-style Best Budget Gaming Chairs. These are gaming chairs and they’re fairly new to the gaming world. Of course, the problem is that gaming chairs tend not to be on good terms with your wallet.

Fortunately, with the growth of the gaming chair industry, prices have fallen and more and more manufacturers have entered the market, which has brought down the overall cost of these chairs. More so, they gave birth to inexpensive gaming chairs that have the appearance of a racing car or “gaming” features, but without the corresponding price tags.

President of Homall Gaming – best affordable gaming chairs

President of Homall Gaming

While there is certainly a lot of choice in the lower end of the gaming chair range, Homall is a well-known brand and it’s good to see them in this price bracket. The first feature I would probably point out is the 180-degree recline which allows you to lie on your back and take a quick nap if you want to. You might be wondering why I mentioned this aspect in the first place and this is due to the fact that few Best Budget Gaming Chairs tend to tilt this far back, so that’s already a big plus. That, or maybe I’m just lazy and like to take a lot of naps, who knows?

As you will see, the chair is made of high-density foam, which is the marketing term for “memory foam”. The seat padding is reasonably good, but the backrest could be a bit thicker, although this is an economy chair, so you can’t complain much about it. The memory foam is wrapped in relatively good quality PU leather which provides both a comfortable fit and easier cleaning.

All the fun is backed by a 1.8mm thick frame and certified Class 3 gas lift that can support up to 300 pounds. This means it’s a great option for those of you who are a bit heavier. That said, be aware that the chair is slightly elevated, so if you have a low desk you might have issues. Of course, it’s not just unicorns and rainbows and there is a problem with this chair, which is that the armrests are not adjustable. It might seem trivial if you’ve never had a gaming chair or a chair with adjustable armrests, but I assure you it becomes painful in the long run when you can’t properly adjust it to rest your arms on.

But luckily, they’re pretty widely separated, so for those of you with larger stomachs, you shouldn’t have a problem. In conclusion, while the Homall isn’t the best chair out there in terms of foam thickness and adjustable armrest, it is nonetheless a great gaming chair that manages to balance price and functionality. Oh and it’s good for those who are a bit taller than average, so it’s also great and it’s one of the most comfortable gaming chairs.

  • Material: High density forming foam, PU leather
  • Maximum tilt: 180 degrees
  • Weight capacity: 300 pounds
  • Competitive price
  • Quick and easy assembly
  • Non-adjustable armrests

GTRACING gaming chair – best cheap computer chair

GTRACING gaming chair

Gttracing is another well-known brand in the gaming market and with this entry they bring a high-end chair in the budget price range. One thing I particularly like about the GTRacing chair is the more pronounced bucket seat compared to the Homall. Unfortunately, the seat itself is a bit thinner, which could be a problem for some users in the heavier segment of the range.

That being said, the winglets and bucket sides of the seat are more padded than the Homall, so it can still be seen as a redistribution of padding.

Of course, it’s still covered with reasonable quality leather and a stylish design that should make most people happy. Likewise, it has a metal frame and a sturdy lift that can support up to 300 pounds. Unfortunately, even though it’s a little more expensive, it only tilts at 170 degrees, which isn’t that bad if you’re completely honest.

Fortunately, the adjustable armrests, which can be raised/lowered or removed completely, have a big advantage. It would have been nice to see a few more degrees of tuning, but at this price point, I won’t complain.

You will also notice that there are a few ventilation openings at the top of the back. This is very useful for some ventilation, especially if you play for long periods of time and need that extra air. Finally, you get yourself some very nice lumbar support and headrest cushions.

While GT racing isn’t a huge improvement over the Homall, the slightly better construction and materials are worth it. Oh, and the adjustable armrests, of course, that’s the real kick!

  • Material: High-density forming foam, PU leather
  • Maximum tilt: 170 degrees
  • Weight capacity: 300 pounds
  • Adjustable armrests
  • Less seat padding

Best Office Desk / Game Chair – good budget gaming chairs

BestOffice Desk

Of course, if you just want to get one of the cheapest things possible, I believe BestOffice has you covered. Come to think of it, you can really see how much functionality you are missing. First of all, this chair is absolutely not reclining, so no need to lie down and rest for you. It does however have a toggle function, which is an advantage.

Likewise, the armrests are not adjustable, as you can probably tell by the fact that they are basically bolted to the chair. That said, they’re a lot more padded which is more than what I can say for some of the other Best Budget Gaming Chairs on this list. They are also curved, which gives a good height for the arms.

By the way, you will see an interesting feature here, namely the integrated lumbar support cushion. It’s going to be a hit or miss as the case may be, although I would probably say it will be a failure given that most people might find a fixed pad irritating. On the other hand, you won’t lose it I guess!

The construction and materials are relatively decent but don’t expect the same level of quality as the previous two Best Budget Gaming Chairs. The seat padding is nice, although the general metal construction is still good and can take some weight. It’s not a bucket seat, so if you’re a bit taller you might find this chair uncomfortable. Overall, the BestOffice gaming chair is not going to win any price, but at least it’s a reasonably good chair at a very low price.

  • Material: Soft padding, PU leather
  • Maximum incline: None, but it oscillates.
  • Weight capacity: 280 pounds
  • Rather inexpensive
  • Not a lot of features

Ace Bayou X Rocker 5143601 II – cheap computer gaming chair

Ace Bayou X Rocker 5143601 II

This chair is a pretty cool entryway, even if you’re not necessarily a rocker fan. What really sets it apart from other Best Budget Gaming Chairs on this list is that it has 2.1 built-in speakers inside. For those not in the know, there are two front-facing speakers and a rear-facing subwoofer. Together, they give you the ability to listen to your audio media right on the chair, rather than on the TV.I’m talking about media entertainment, because not only can you plug this chair into your TV through the RCA ports, but you can also plug it into a smart device using the 3.5mm jack.

So you can just sit back and watch a movie or listen to music on the armchair. Oh, and it rocks, so you can do that too while you’re having fun. Another nocturnal aspect of it all is that everything is easily accessible thanks to the panel on the side of the chair. Along with the inputs and outputs, you also get volume and bass control knobs, so you can control things from there rather than just the smart device.

Apart from the speakers, he’s a pretty good chairman. It is made of a wooden structure, but you shouldn’t worry too much about it since it rests directly on the ground. The padding is also quite good, although it certainly could be better and you might feel the wood underneath after long use.

Finally, it is all wrapped in good quality leather. While we’re on the outside, I’ll also mention the armrests, which unfortunately aren’t adjustable or padded, which is a downside. Ultimately, it’s a great gaming chair … for a kid, teenager, or young adult because it’s a bit smaller. However, considering its features, this is a great chair and a great gift if you are considering giving one. If you’d like to see other similar options, check out our article on gaming chairs with speakers.

  • Material: Soft padding, PU leather
  • Maximum incline: None
  • Weight Capacity: Not mentioned, but assuming 240lbs
  • Integrated front-facing speakers
  • Can connect to any device with RCA or 3.5mm jacks
  • Floor chair and not working for gaming desks

Furmax – top budget gaming chairs

Furmax Gaming and Chairman of the Board

The previous chairs on the list were really great … unless you wanted a gaming chair that didn’t look like a gaming chair. As you can see, the Furmax chair is actually quite simple and would fit in. well in an office environment. Of course, this is not an expensive chair, so the seat padding is not that big and comparable to the BestOffice chair of yore.

But unlike this armchair, the Furmax is not fully PU leather and they have opted for a mix of leather and mesh fabric which adds to its aesthetic.

Beyond the aesthetic, the mesh of the fabric is supposed to offer a little more breathability. The two ventilation openings at the top also help with the air conditioning and these two elements combined give it a more playful look, since it is designed for many hours of sitting.

You’ll also notice that it, unfortunately, doesn’t have a back tilt, although I guess that’s not too bad since it’s meant to serve as a productivity chair. That being said, the entire chair reclines and there is a rocking function, so there is a positive side.

Likewise, the armrests aren’t adjustable which is a bit of a letdown, but the silver lining is they’re padded and somewhat curved, which should give you a comfortable fit. That said, while it can hold up to 280 pounds, it can be a bit small for those with a bigger abdomen, so this chair is definitely not for everyone.

There is not much to add about the Furmax chair; it’s a stripped-down gaming/desk chair that aims to be as affordable as possible. Yes, you lose some features, but for just under $ 60, that’s not a bad proposition at all.

  • Material: Soft padding, PU leather and fabric mesh
  • Maximum incline: none
  • Weight capacity: 280 pounds
  • Competitive price
  • Padded armrests
  • In Tilt

Best Budget Gaming Chairs | Buying guide

As with any other product, when you move down to the lower price brackets you tend to lose a lot of features along the way. That is why there are a few things you should pay attention to when buying a cheap gaming chair, especially since every dollar counts.

If you are not a fan of the choices we have presented so far, we suggest you check out the Merax Gaming Chair, which can be considered a budget choice and is extremely durable.

Obviously, one of the main things you will have to compromise on in the lower price bracket is not only the material but also the quality of the material.

Most of the good cheap gaming chairs in the range tend to use a leather called PU or polyurethane leather. This leather is basically made from the scraps of genuine leather, which is coated with polyurethane and used to cover the structure or material used. It is basically a faux leather made from high-quality plastics and skin scraps.

PU leather is not very fancy, but it is certainly inexpensive, which is why good cheap gaming chairs tend to use it. Inexpensive gaming chairs are also often upholstered in fabric. In fact, it might not look so great, but the mesh fabric is quite breathable and depending on the design and the amount used, it can be more breathable than leather. So if you see a mesh chair, don’t necessarily be afraid to go for it.

The internals is usually made of memory foam and may or may not be dense. Dense is usually made for a best cheap gaming chairs that doesn’t have a lot of padding so that they don’t warp too much and you end up sitting right on the frame. Non-dense chairs, on the other hand, are typically used when there is more padding, as they have much more strength. It’s up to you to decide what you prefer and how firm your seat is.

Tilt / rotate

Another thing that you might not always find in a low budget gaming chair is a tilt feature that allows the back of the chair to tilt only for gaming. tilt allows the entire chair to tilt back, usually freely. Finally, there is the rocking function which gives the chair a bit of back and forth motion, like in a rocking chair.

Weight capacity

Each has its merits and the people who prefer it. For those who enjoy the rocking and reclining functions, you’ll be happy to know that almost all gaming chairs have them. That being said, always keep an eye out, as I certainly can’t account for all the chairs out there!

What is the purpose of a gaming chair?

Gaming chairs are primarily designed for extended periods of use and are generally ergonomic. The chair can be used for long periods of time, but that doesn't mean you don't have to stretch every now and then.

Are gaming chairs good for work/study?

As mentioned above, gaming chairs are designed to be comfortable and used for long periods of time, so they are ideal for work and study.
